Ozone Therapy Reduces Inflammation and Improves Brain Health

Summary

This study looked at how ozone therapy affects male rats that have developed post-traumatic epilepsy (PTE) after a brain injury. Researchers divided the rats into three groups: one group received no treatment, another group had PTE without treatment, and the third group had PTE but received ozone therapy for three days. The scientists monitored the rats for seizure activity and also tested their behavior and cognitive abilities after the treatment.

The key findings showed that ozone therapy helped reduce inflammation and oxidative stress in the rats with PTE. While the treatment did not significantly change the severity, duration, or latency of seizures, it did show a trend toward fewer seizures. Additionally, the rats that received ozone therapy performed better in behavioral tests, indicating improvements in their movement and memory. The therapy also seemed to positively affect certain molecules in the brain related to inflammation and stress.
